For example, a New Yorker would never suggest a visit to Canal Street to buy a fake purse. However we would (or at least I would) suggest watching the sun go down over the Statue of Liberty while riding the Staten Island Ferry (sitting outside of course) with a cold beer.
We’d love it if you’d reblog with suggestions if you live in or are familiar with any of these cities:
- Pittsburgh
On your way into town from the airport, make sure you drive through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, best reveal of a city since Dorothy spotted Emerald City.
1. Church Brew Works in Lawrenceville.
2. The Gateway Clipper does daytime tours of the Three Rivers for reasonable rates. Bonus: there’s a bar on the boat.
3. Take either the Monongahela or Duquesne incline to the top of Mt. Washington.
4. Heinz Field, PNC Park, and the Andy Warhol Museum are all within walking distance of each other on the North Shore. The new Rivers Casino is right there as well, with nice restaurants that offer great views of the city, or you could play the slots with the blue-hairs.
5. The Beehive Coffee House in the South Side.
